Meet Dr. Sager

Dr. Maggie Sager has always been passionate about being an advocate for women and women’s health. She fell in love with the specialty while in medical school at University of Louisville. It was during this time that she realized the tremendous breadth of care that an OBGYN provides for women in all stages of life and in many different ways, from clinical visits to the operating room and delivery room.

Dr. Sager is most passionate about forming important, trusting relationships with her patients, and educating and empowering them about their health. She’s also particularly interested in helping women navigate the challenges of pregnancy and the postpartum period, especially regarding perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Born and raised in Fairfax, VA, Dr. Sager has lived in Vermont, Boston, Kentucky, and New York City before returning to Richmond to be closer to family. She loves staying active – she minored in dance at University of Vermont and enjoys practicing yoga and Pilates. She also played the cello in college and still tries to attend performances any chance she can get! An absolute foodie (she and her husband have been working on perfecting their pizza-making technique almost every weekend for the last ten years), Dr. Sager is also excited to check out Richmond’s incredible food scene as well as explore the city as a family.
