Meet Dr. Hopkins

As both an extrovert and empath, Dr. Hopkins views women’s health as not simply a career but a vocation. Known for her “golden retriever energy” and her compassionate nature, she is dedicated to providing patient-centered care and unwavering support for the women of Richmond.

Originally from Chesapeake, Virginia, Dr. Hopkins began her journey to medicine at William & Mary where she received her B.S. in Neuroscience and Public Health. She then attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, before traveling south to Pensacola, Florida, where she completed her OBGYN residency with Florida State University at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital. 

As Virginia truly is home, Dr. Hopkins was excited to move to Richmond, Virginia in 2026 to join the VPFW family. Grateful to find a supportive network and a solid team-based approach to care, she felt VPFW was the perfect practice to grow and thrive in her OB/GYN career. She is dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive women’s health care and building long-term relationships with the women of Richmond.

During her residency, Dr. Hopkins developed a passion for the complexity of walking with women through the journey of pregnancy. She strives to create a care environment where each patient feels supported, empowered, and heard at every step.

Dr. Hopkins has also come to love the creativity of performing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She is committed to giving women access to modern, personalized options that offer faster recoveries and less discomfort so that they can get back to living their lives fully and comfortably.

Patient education is another passion of Dr. Hopkins’. From helping patients understand their contraceptive options to building awareness for preventative health screenings, she empowers women to take charge of their own health decisions at every age and stage of life. Her goal is to provide the knowledge and support every woman needs to navigate her body, her options, and her long-term well-being with confidence.

Outside of work, you can find Dr. Hopkins concocting new recipes, reading, walking along the James River, or exploring Richmond’s restaurant scene. An Orange Theory enthusiast, she appreciates a good high-energy workout and trying new fitness challenges. Dr. Hopkins also loves traveling to new destinations and finding the best places to scuba dive – a hobby she’s had since age 16!
