Meet Dr. Uvanni

Dr. Uvanni’s journey began as a Hokie at Virginia Tech, where her passion for medicine was first ignited. Her medical school pursuits led her south to Auburn, Alabama, where she fell in love with the southern charm and the field of obstetrics and gynecology. It was during her time in Alabama that she attended her first delivery, a life-changing experience that solidified her decision to specialize in women’s health.

Dr. Uvanni is a firm believer in patient advocacy, striving to be there for her patients in both the good and difficult times. She believes that patients know themselves better than anyone else and is committed to listening to their needs and meeting them exactly where they are. Her goal is to make health-related decisions easier for her patients, partnering with them to navigate the complexities of healthcare.

After her time in Alabama, Dr. Uvanni found her way back up north, attending her residency in Pennsylvania. She was one step closer to her forever spot of Richmond, Virginia, where she was born at St Mary’s Hospital – the very same hospital where she now has the privilege of working.

In her free time, Dr. Uvanni is a fitness enthusiast and avid yogi. She spent a month in Costa Rica becoming a certified yoga instructor and plans to obtain her pre/postnatal yoga certificate. She also has an undeniable sweet tooth, finding every excuse to enjoy wedding cake or almond-flavored desserts.

Dr. Uvanni’s career interests include menopause, robotic surgery, adolescent gynecology, contraception, and obstetrical care. She is also an advocate for education and mentorship, having received the Golden Apple Award for her contributions in these areas.
