Stephen P. Pound
What do a ninja, a football player, a ballerina, and a stand-up comedian all have in common? At Dr. Pound’s house, that’s who greets him at the door when he gets home from work! Dr. Pound is blessed to have four wonderful children and a beautiful wife in whom he most admires for her endless supply of energy and unfailing generosity. Having been together since high school, they have lived and spent time in Michigan (Go Blue!), North Carolina, Crozet, VA, and are now firmly settled in Moseley and feel blessed to call Richmond their home.
At the office, Dr. Pound and his nurse Cynthia strive to provide a balance of the professional care you expect with the personal care and attention that you deserve. No matter your concerns, he will sit down with you, listen actively, and engage you in shared-decision making when determining a course of treatment. As any of his patients can attest, you will never see him in a bad mood. (And if you do, you are welcome to call him on it.)
On weekends, you will find Dr. Pound woodworking in his garage, cheering for his kids during sports games or dance recitals, and serving in youth leadership at Woodlake United Methodist church where he and his family are members. He loves spending time with his family and enjoying all that Richmond has to offer.
You can schedule your appointment with him at our Midlothian or Prince George locations. He and Cynthia look forward to taking care of you and are known for never saying “no” to a work-in!

“I have been seeing Dr. Pound for about 2 years, and he is the best GYN I have ever had. Not only is he thorough and knowledgeable, he really listens. Dr. Pound will spend all the time you need to ask questions, and he actually listens and responds with care and compassion. From my very first visit with him, he made me feel comfortable, relaxed, and well taken care of. Dr. Pound’s gentle spirit and comforting style has really been a help to me as I am maneuvering through this stage in my life. I trust him completely, and that is not always easy to say about doctors these days. Thank you Dr. Pound!” – Vitals Review, 2017
