Meet Dr. Bendheim

All of Dr. Bendheim’s patients owe a big “thank you” to his 10th-grade biology teacher because that’s where his interest in medicine started. Encouraged by her guidance to consider becoming a doctor, Dr. Bendheim joined the volunteer rescue squad and took a weekend course at MCV—after that, he was hooked! Now he’s even a teacher himself, working as an associate professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Virginia and serving as director of the third year med student OB/GYN clerkship in Richmond.

Dr. Bendheim loves that his job offers so much variety. On any given day he may be an obstetrician, a gynecologist, a radiologist, a surgeon, or a dermatologist, among other roles. Throughout it all, he acknowledges that his patients choose to see him, and he takes that responsibility seriously, treating each patient with respect and compassion.

When he’s not juggling his many professional roles, Dr. Bendheim loves to spend time with his family, exercise, and enjoy the incredible dining and outdoor scene in RVA—he is a Richmond native, after all!
