Adrianne Colton
M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Hitting up the South of the James Farmer’s Market to stock up for the week? You may spot Dr. Colton there shopping for ingredients to use in her latest cooking or baking experiment! She loves taking advantage of RVA’s big city offerings, noting that it still has a small city, intimate feel. There’s always something new or different to try, and while she always goes back to her favorite spots and activities like walking with her husband and dog in Hollywood Cemetery or relaxing in Maymont, she’s also game to try new things like mountain biking or running a trail she hasn’t yet explored or testing out the city’s most recently-opened restaurant.

Dr. Colton isn’t just about the fun outdoor activities though. A self-described biology nerd, she’s also passionate about medicine and patient education. She is especially interested in global healthcare and has traveled to Honduras, Spain, and Kenya to deliver obstetric and gynecologic-focused care to patients in need. She loves empowering women to take care of themselves by helping them understand all of the stages of their lives and is known for being a wonderful patient advocate.

“Dr. Colton is amazing. She makes you feel comfortable and welcome and actually remembered me. She was very thorough in her explanations and made me feel like I made the best decision in choosing her as my new Gynecologist. She is very kind and compassionate and I can tell she loves what she does.” – Patient Survey, 2017
