Meet Dr. Bagley

Having grown up in Maine, Dr. Catherine Bagley brings a distinctly New England style to her practice. She’s grounded and thoughtful, with a dry sense of humor and that “Yankee” demeanor of being direct and kind, but not necessarily sweet.

Before entering medicine, Dr. Bagley taught high school English, an experience that continues to inform her communication style and commitment to patient education. Ultimately drawn to women’s health, she pursued a career in OB/GYN in which she could both practice medicine and perform surgeries, all while building lifelong relationships with her patients.

Dr. Bagley considers it an honor to provide comprehensive and inclusive care for women over the course of their lives.  Her approach emphasizes education, shared decision-making, and informed consent, ensuring that each patient feels respected, heard, and empowered in her care.

From conducting routine visits to being there for major milestones in her patients’ lives, Dr. Bagley values the unique continuity of care that being an OB/GYN affords. She finds deep meaning in supporting her patients through these experiences.

Dr. Bagley’s professional interests include contraceptive technology and family planning (including permanent contraception), menopause management, low-intervention birth, vaginal birth after cesarean delivery (VBAC), and advancing health equity.

A strong advocate for reproductive freedom, Dr. Bagley previously worked with an organization dedicated to expanding access to comprehensive reproductive care. She remains committed to ensuring her patients have access to the full spectrum of reproductive health services.

Dr. Bagley joined VPFW in 2026, drawn by its collaborative environment, its amazing staff, and the expertise of its skilled providers.

Outside of work, Dr. Bagley enjoys hiking, paddling, and taking her dog on outdoor adventures.
