Why Us
Learn how VPFW can be your trusted partners in health through every stage of of your life.
Personalized Care and Compassion
Our mission at VPFW has always been to provide the personalized, compassionate women’s health care you deserve. It’s why we are continually voted Best OB/GYN care in Richmond.
Think of us as your partners in women’s health. Your care team will take time to listen to your concerns and understand your needs.
We promise to work with you to help you find the best solutions for your health and wellbeing – through every stage of your life.
“I love the compassionate culture at VPFW – the way our patients are taken care of by our team,” says Dr. Padmini Santosh. “We see your appointments as an opportunity to listen first, then talk about what, if any, changes can be made to keep you in the best health possible.”
It may not always be a smooth road, but we’ll be here every step: celebrating your happy moments and holding your hand through difficult ones.
Shared Expertise
As a large group practice, our team of providers has a wide variety of specialties and expertise. This means we can meet your needs as you move through different phases of life and face new health challenges.
Our culture of collaboration allows us to synergize our wide range of expertise to offer our patients the highest quality of care possible. “We’re constantly growing and learning from our colleagues,” says Dr. Rebecca Schnatz, OB/GYN.
Dr. Boyd Clary agrees. “Patients often benefit from all our training, practice experience, and skillsets combined,” he noted. “Our shared expertise means we can ensure you receive the best health care recommendations for you.”
This culture of collaboration across skillsets combined with VPFW’s state-of-the-art facilities is what drew Dr. Natalie Macdisi to VPFW in 2025. “It allows us to offer you the best, most current care possible.”
Continuity of Care Combined with Flexibility
At VPFW, you’ll notice a supportive, small-practice feel that emphasizes personalized, continuous care and fosters close relationships between patients and their providers. Yet our size and infrastructure mean our patients and physicians have the best of both worlds: continuity of care combined with flexibility.
“I cherish my ability to develop lifelong relationships with my patients here,” shared Dr. Marie Grove, who joined VPFW in 2024. “And the opportunity to offer them consistent support and guidance.”
What may be less obvious is the patient-centered infrastructure that allows your care team to communicate seamlessly, providing personalized care no matter which provider or location you visit.
You’ll be able to establish an ongoing relationship with your provider. Yet, if they are not available when you need to be seen, you have the flexibility to receive high-quality care from a trusted colleague. Your provider will be updated so they’re up to speed at your next visit—without losing a step in your care.
You’ll also have access to our medical advice line staffed with experienced medical assistants. These individuals are available to answer medical questions that come up between visits and offer you guidance or reassurance.
VPFW’s flexibility is good for your provider, as well.
Dr. Lois Davis put it perfectly when she joined the practice in 2024. “I love that VPFW’s model allows its providers to maintain personal relationships with their patients while balancing their own wellness.” She emphasized how our model prevents physician burnout and the negative impact it can have on patient care. “Instead, we have the perfect symbiotic relationship between what both patients and physicians want and need to thrive in this life.”
Serving A Community We Love
We’ve always been your partners in health, but there’s one more thing that makes VPFW so special. We’re also dedicated to being partners in the community we share.
It’s another reason why our providers love it here. “Being an OB/GYN at VPFW allows my passions for women’s health and serving my community to be intertwined,” says Dr. Cara Hartle.

You’ll find us volunteering, holding charity drives, and educating our community on some of the most important women’s health causes in town. The entire practice is passionate about lifting up the community we love.
Dr.Ramzi Aboujaoude summed it up nicely. “We live in our community, we treat our community, we serve our community.”
