Ambient Whole Blood Analysis Study for Pregnant Patients

If you’re interested in participating in this paid clinical research study for pregnant patients, check eligibility and fill out the form below.

Paid clinical research study for pregnant patients

This is a compensated clinical study for pregnant VPFW patients involving one 20- to 30-minute visit with Clinical Research Partners at the VPFW Koger Center office to collect patient medical information and blood samples.

Purpose of the study

This study is being conducted to determine if there are other ways to process and store blood specimens collected for the PreTRM test using dried blood. If dried blood specimens can be analyzed with the PreTRM test, this could make the test more widely available. The information and blood samples from this study will be used to help with the development of tests that may help in early prediction and prevention of premature delivery (birth before 37th week of pregnancy) and other events in pregnancy.

Description of “Ambient” study

The “Ambient Whole Blood Analysis and Research Evaluation Study” will collect up to 9ml of blood (about 2 teaspoons) using two different collection methods. Your blood samples will be de-identified and labeled with a code number before they are sent to Sera Prognostics, Inc.’s laboratory for anlysis. Demographic and medical information about you will be collected that will include your age, height, pre-pregnancy weight, last menstrual period date, estimated due date, and medications you have taken that you tell us about or are in your medical chart. You may refuse to answer any questions that make you feel uncomfortable.

Eligibility

You may qualify to participate in the study if you are:

  • at least 18 years old
  • pregnant with one baby
  • between 18 weeks and 20 weeks and 6 days of your pregnancy.

Compensation

If you qualify and decide to participate, you may receive $50 as compensation.
