Meet Dr. Davis
Dr. Lois A. Davis loves connecting with her patients on a personal level, helping them make health care decisions that will better their quantity and quality of life.
Originally from Maryland (born in Prince George’s County, grew up in St. Mary’s County), Dr. Davis went to Cornell University in New York, where she graduated with a B.A. in biological sciences and a concentration in nutrition. She then moved to Virginia and received her MD at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 2020.
Dr. Davis completed her OB/GYN residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2024. During her training, she had the pleasure of learning while helping patients through a wide range of life stages: from onset of puberty, to childbirth, to menopause, and everything in between–including birth control and gynecologic surgeries.
Dr. Davis truly found her “Goldie Locks” practicing as an OB/GYN. She loves that the field offers such variety and scope–from the thrill of emergency medicine to the serenity of assisting life into the world–all the while allowing her to support women’s rights, be at the forefront of advocacy, and counsel women on the most intimate topics that span their entire lives.
Beyond her OB/GYN specialty, Dr. Davis has pursued special professional interests in health disparities and diversity in medicine. She has undergone extensive training surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare and has given workshops on the topic at numerous medical society events. She also enjoys volunteering for community health projects and mentoring medical students.
The decision to join Virginia Physicians for Women in 2024 was an easy one for Dr. Davis: she loves that VPFW’s model allows its providers to maintain personal relationships with their patients while balancing their own wellness, preventing burnout. She feels it’s the perfect symbiotic relationship between what physicians and patients want and need to thrive in this life. The bonus: a supportive culture that ensures collective success!
Relocating to Richmond put both Dr. Davis and her partner near their siblings and closer to their parents, which they are so grateful for. She also has two cats at home which she lovingly refers to as “the boys.” Fun fact: Dr. Davis did not have cats growing up, so they are mostly raised like dogs that use a litter box.
In her downtime, Dr. Davis enjoys reading, community engagement activities, and exploring surrounding nature trails, shops, and restaurants. She’s getting into travel and loves a good game night!
