Expansion will include a new facility at our St. Francis Office and doubled capacity at our Prince George office and new headquarters
VPFW is excited to announce the expansion of its Mammography department over the next year, giving patients more appointment availability as well as a new location option at our St. Francis office. We currently offer mammography at our Midlothian Turnpike headquarters, our West Creek office in Short Pump, and our Prince George office. Our St. Francis office will begin offering Mammography in mid-December. Patients can schedule mammograms at our St. Francis office now by requesting an appointment online or by calling us at 897-2100.
VPFW will be doubling mammography capacity at our Prince George office with the addition of a second mammography machine in Spring of 2021. Our new headquarters building on Koger Center Blvd (scheduled to open in Fall 2021) will also have a second machine, doubling the capacity of our current headquarters.
“Our patients’ breast health is very important to us, and we know that our limited capacity has meant scheduling difficulties,” said Bridget Ames, Mammography Manager at VPFW. “We are thrilled to be expanding our mammography services to provide more availability and convenient location options for appointments. We want to make sure that our patients are able to schedule a mammogram when they need one and make their breast health an annual priority.”
Each of our current mammography facilities is FDA-Certified, and the new facilities will be as well. We use full-field, digital, low-dose mammography equipment to assist in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer. Each machine is equipped with 3D and 2D mammography capabilities. We partner with Radiology Associates of Richmond to read our patients’ scans.
