Mama and Baby Supplies Drive & Giveaway 2025

We’re collecting diapers, wipes, formula, postpartum supplies, and more at all VPFW locations through Thursday, July 17 to be given out at our free giveaway event on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

A mama’s everyday needs that come along with caring for a baby and healing her body after childbirth can be incredibly overwhelming. Families need support during this crucial time, and we invite them to find that support at our annual Mama and Baby Supplies Drive & Giveaway, hosted by VPFW and Villa Advocacy Group.

Our drive allows families who have extra supplies to donate them to families who need them. We’re collecting supplies at all VPFW offices through Thursday, July 17 as well as at the giveaway event.

The giveaway event will be held at VPFW’s Koger Center office in North Chesterfield from 3-6pm on Sunday, July 20. The event is free and open to the public.

The Drive: Donate supplies or order from our Amazon Wishlist by Thurs., July 17

Mamas and families who have spare supplies from the list below can drop off donations at any of the six VPFW locations throughout greater Richmond and Prince George anytime through Thursday, July 17. They can also drop off donations at the event on Sunday, July 20.

Donations we are accepting:

  • Diapers (open packs are fine!)
  • Wipes (unopened packs only)
  • Formula (Unopened only. Should not expire before September, 2025. Please also check to make sure it is not listed on this recall list. (Type “baby formula” in the search box.))
  • Breastfeeding supplies (new or used pumps or pump parts, breastmilk storage bags)
  • Bottles (new or used)
  • Postpartum pads (open packs are fine!)

The giveaway event is free and open to the public. There will be a vendor fair with organizations in our community that provide support and resources to families. Our stand-alone building is easy to find – right in front of Costco near Chesterfield Towne Center – and it has ample parking.

Doors will not open until the event begins at 3pm. The line is usually long, and sunscreen is encouraged!

Have a more urgent need?

If you need formula or other supplies sooner than July 20, please request to join the Villa RVA/Central VA Facebook group and post your request. If your request is not satisfied through the group, fill out this request form and they will do what they can to fulfill your need.

RVA Formula Exchange is another Facebook group that’s helping to connect local families who need formula with families who have extra or know where to find it.

City of Richmond residents who are eligible for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) are encouraged to apply to receive a $125 formula gift card through Urban Baby Beginnings.  The gift cards benefit families in the program who may need to purchase formula at regular market price from stores that do not participate in WIC if they are not able to find formula at WIC participating stores. Submit the formula assistance request form to apply for a formula gift card.

Need more formula, breastfeeding, or mental health resources for moms?

Before for our first Mama and Baby Supplies Drive, Dr. Cara Hartle put together a list of formula, breastfeeding, and mental health resources to help Richmond area moms find the support they need during this challenging time in their lives. Please take a look, and know that you can feel comfortable reaching out to your VPFW provider or medical advice line if you have any questions or need more guidance to find the resources you need. It truly takes a village, and VPFW is here to help!

To make an appointment with an OB/GYN provider at one of our Richmond, VA, locations, call VPFW at 804-897-2100 or message us to schedule online.
