Prince George Mama and Baby Supplies Drive & Giveaway November 2

We’re collecting spare formula, diapers, wipes and more at any VPFW location through October 30 to be given out to families at the event at VPFW’s Prince George office on Thursday, November 2. 

They say it takes a village, and VPFW and Villa Advocacy Group are here to help! We are holding another Mama and Baby Supplies Drive & Giveaway at VPFW’s Prince George office on Thursday, November 2.  We invite families with extra supplies to donate leading up to our during the event to help mamas and families in the Prince George area!

The event is free and open to the public. Donate what you can, and/or take what you need!

Items we are collecting through Oct. 30:

Drop off the following donations at any VPFW location through Monday, October 30 or at the event at our Prince George office at 5pm on November 2:

  • Formula (Should be unopened and should not expire before January, 2024. Please also check the lot number to make sure it is not listed on this recall list.)
  • Breastfeeding supplies such as pumps or pump parts (used or new) and breastmilk storage bags
  • Bottles
  • Diapers (open packs are fine!)
  • Wipes (unopened containers)
  • Postpartum pads (open packs are fine!)
  • Postpartum ice packs
  • Menstrual supplies (open packs are fine!)

*Please note that we don’t encourage clearing the shelves of local stores in order to purchase items to donate, as local families need access to those items. We do encourage anyone who has extra, unneeded formula or supplies on hand to donate them to the drive for families who need them. Thank you!

Amazon Wishlist and Other Ways to Donate

Want to help but don’t have any supplies to donate? Or just prefer to donate without leaving your house?

You can purchase much-needed items via Villa’s Amazon Wishlist to be delivered to VPFW by Tuesday, Oct 31. After you add item(s) to your cart and proceed to check out, please select “VPFW Koger Center’s gift registry address” (1212 Koger Center Boulevard) as the delivery address. We will transport all donated items to the Prince George event on Nov. 2.

You can also donate to Villa Advocacy Group/Villa Exchange online to help with its ongoing mission to support families in need of formula or other mama and baby supplies.

Need more formula, breastfeeding, or mental health resources?

Check out Dr. Cara Hartle’s list of formula, breastfeeding, and mental health resources to help local moms find the support they need during these difficult times. Villa Advocacy Group’s Facebook groups, Villa and Villa Exchange, are great places to start. If your request is not satisfied through the groups, fill out this request form and they will do what they can to fulfill your need.

RVA Formula Exchange is another Facebook group that’s helping to connect local families who need formula with families who have extra or know where to find it.

Please feel comfortable reaching out to your VPFW provider or phone nurses (call 804-897-2100 and select Option 2 to speak with a phone nurse) if you have any questions or need more guidance to find the resources you need. It truly takes a village, and VPFW and Villa are here to help!
