Virginia Physicians for Women is looking for a new member to join the Medical Records team at our Koger Center headquarters office in Midlothian/North Chesterfield. This individual must have a strong work ethic and the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
Essential Functions:
Primary:
- Collect and scan patient related information into electronic medical records.
- Receive and distribute all practice mail and prepare outgoing mail as needed.
- Distribute interoffice communications, faxing externally as requested.
As needed:
- Reconcile retrieved medical records to patient roster to ensure receipt of all records.
- Direct incoming faxes from central fax number to electronic records or specific employee.
- Respond to patient and external requests for medical records.
- Attach incoming results to appropriate orders within patient records.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to perform work within appropriate time frame, accurately and in a timely manner in periods of increased workload.
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment in handling situations not covered by written or verbal instruction and seek guidance as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Previous medical records experience preferred but not required
- High School diploma or equivalent
