Minerva: Fastest Endometrial Ablation Procedure
Are heavy periods ruling your life? Are you sick of having periods that last over a week, with heavy cramping? Are you concerned about anemia, hemorrhages, or iron deficiency?
We’ve found your solution!
It’s called Minerva, and VPFW was the first to offer this procedure in Central Virginia.
Minerva is the newest and quickest Endometrial Ablation procedure, for women experiencing menorrhagia, a condition that affects 1 in 5. In this case, menstrual periods may exceed seven days and may be accompanied by hemorrhaging, profuse bleeding, clotting, and severe cramping.
Not only is it a quick procedure–Minerva has the highest treatment success rate of all endometrial ablations ever tested for approval by the FDA. As much as 92% of women saw a reduction in bleeding to a normal level or less, and 66% reported no bleeding at all, 12 months post-procedure.
Consequently, most patients also reported improved and more frequent sexual activity, and almost 99% of Minerva patients would recommend the procedure to a friend or relative.
This procedure is performed at VPFW’s state-of-the-art Surgery Center. On average, our entire surgical process takes a little more than 90 minutes from check-in to discharge. This is half of what you’d expect in a hospital, and it eliminates exposure to sick patients and unnecessary costs. Additionally, our Ambulatory Surgery Center offers much lower costs than at a hospital, especially for those with higher-deductible insurance.
