Joseph Harry Ellen, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., MBA

Dr. Ellen is a native of Portsmouth, Virginia. He now lives in Richmond with his wife, Fiona. They have six (yes, six!) children; four girls and two boys. Four have finished college. The oldest daughter works in human resources for Coty Cosmetics in New York. Another daughter is an electrical engineer for Dominion Resources in Richmond. Two have decided to follow in their dad’s footsteps and have finished medical school. A daughter is in an Anesthesiology residency at Georgetown University and a son is in a Urology residency at the University of Florida. One son, currently, is a college student at the University of Virginia. A 16 year old daughter is at home going to high school and continues to keep things very interesting.

Dr. Ellen is very involved in all aspects of his active and changing family. He loves spending time with them. He is currently pursuing some of “The Great Books”. He is an avid reader of history and how its understanding reveals a march of liberty for all groups and the struggle involved in maintaining the rights of the individual. He enjoys gardening and when possible, traveling.
