“How do you feel about your weight?” It sounds like such a simple question, but in my experience discussing this topic with my patients, I’ve learned that the responses are varied and far from simple.
For some women, they’re seeing a number on the scale that’s higher than they ever thought possible! For others, the reply is “I feel great! I have recently joined my local gym and have already lost 10 pounds.”
Weight and diet have such a personal effect on wellness and self-esteem, and no matter what stage you are in on your journey towards a healthy lifestyle, we’re here to help. While everyone’s situation is different, I know what it feels like to want to make a change. After years of yo-yo dieting, I lost weight myself through enrolling in Weight Watchers and learning how to have a healthier attitude toward food.
At VPFW, I have decided to make this a focus of my practice in helping our community. I am passionate about and committed to providing a cost-effective, safe, comfortable, non-intimidating environment to have a conversation no one looks forward to having. While we will regularly address weight, my focus is not on a number. Together, we will focus on how you can create a healthier lifestyle, develop a healthier attitude toward food, and identify and set tangible goals that are attainable.
During our initial office consultation I will sit down with you and review your goals, struggles, and positive habits. We’ll discuss various dietary options, prescription weight loss medications, physician referred exercise programs, and additional community resources to determine what will work best for you as you work towards meeting your goals. We will then meet monthly to celebrate your success, navigate the pitfalls, and keep you accountable and motivated throughout your weight loss journey.
I feel fortunate to have already helped a number of women achieve their goals, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for the future.
